In any criminal file, there will be adjournment court hearings until the Crown has given the defence lawyer “Crown disclosure.”
That is a copy of the witness statements and police statements.
Once that is obtained, the defence lawyer and client can meet and plan strategy and the defence lawyer can meet with the Crown to speak about the most efficient and fair way forward.
Until the disclosure package is ready- the client may face some stress, since we all have a desire to have things end quickly. My advice is always, to simply take a deep breath and let the process evolve- Zen in the internet age.
